A beautiful gem spinel crystals atop a perch of massive pyrrhotite, from the old find in Tajikistan.A superb single 6.5 mm gem crystal atop a perch of massive pyrrhotite, from the old find in Tajikistane. There are two other spinel crystal on the matrix - unfortunately incomplete. I had never seen spinel on pyrrhotite (or other sulfides) from anywhere. These gem crystals have a unique lavender hue that sets them apart from other spinels we have seen out of Mogok and Sri Lanka.
