- Pollucite

- Quartz and oxides
This piece, despite lacking much in the way of crystal form (it is etched on all sides), is amazingly lustrous and so gemmy inside. The etching does not allow for easy photographing, but take my word for it, its better in person, and a stunning example of a gem Pollucite from this great pegmatite locality.
Pollucite is an unusual Cesium-bearing member of the Zeolite group, and excellent, gem quality specimens are found most often in pegmatites of all places ! Some of the most famous gem quality Pollucites are known from the various localities in Oxford County, Maine, but recently, Afghanistan and Russia have yielded some of the finest transparent Pollucite specimens extant.
